“With camera in hand, I thrive in exploring the true essence and energy of each individual, product, and/or location that I photograph.
As an educated and experienced advertising and fashion photographer, and not neglecting the innate pursuit I have towards my photographic fine art photography, I approach each assignment and canvas with my passion in check.
I truly love what I do."
Photographer Doug Heslep, offers services in Texas, California, Nevada, and Florida. His background is photography for Fashion, Editorial, Models, Actors, Beauty, Product/Advertising, Professional Portraiture, Architectural, and Fine Art Projects. All are complimented by his undergraduate and graduate studies education with emphasis in Photography from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. Doug has over 30 years in studio, and on location experience. His goal is to provide imagery specific and unique to the brand, individual, or subject matter he is working with. Translating best to mean, he is qualified, dependable, and there are no cookie-cutter sessions!
Doug has extensive studio and on location experience, currently offering his services as a freelancer. He is a people person, both with and without camera in hand. He enjoys the interaction with his models, muses, and clients, and no matter the experience level, being able to bring out the personality and character of those in front of his lens. Which is how every believable and marketable image needs to be. When working with Doug, the highest levels of his professionalism and integrity are always top priority to maintain and exhibit. Accused of being a perfectionist as well, he is definitely someone you want on your sideline. The term, "that's good enough" , will never leave his lips, for he always puts his goals beyond expectation. And, although he is usually brought in on a project because of his ability to conceptualize and finalize, he considers himself a team player and welcomes collaborating with those who represent your efforts.
On a more personal closing note:
Doug became a single parent early on in his career, and actually even before he started graduate school in 1986. His son, Alex, now 35, was hitched to his side exclusively since the age of 14 months, and trucked right on along with him thru it all. Doug even managed to coach his little league baseball team for 5 seasons. Then there was the every Thursday night, since Alex was 8 and for the next 12 years, that they played Ultimate Frisbee as a team sport together. Doug is proud to have been a dedicated parent, and considers this to be the largest influence on who he is today, molding him both personally, and of course indirectly within his career. Being again, someone you want on your sideline.
